Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer. As we kick off this exciting new chapter, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome back to each of you.

Today, August 22nd, teacher assignments are live on School tool. As I shared in June, developing class lists is driven by many different factors that are required by both New York State and district-wide expectations. This, in conjunction with various student needs, are the first considerations when creating rosters. Additionally, B'Ville stands behind the importance of ensuring the most inclusive and welcoming setting for ALL students. Our counselor, school psychologist, and social worker work WITH our teachers to decide class lists that are inclusive of all the students who attend Mae E. Reynolds Elementary. I am confident that the experience, knowledge, and character each teacher at Reynolds Elementary brings to the classroom every day will positively influence students' academic achievement and social-emotional development.

This year brings about an exciting change for all elementary students attending the BCSD. At the elementary level, the academic year will be divided into trimesters with aligned standards for assessment. This will be reflected in their report cards. Don't know how to log into SchoolTool to view your child's report card?

The first day of school for students is September 3rd. It is a full day. Please note: Have your child at the bus stop five minutes early and know that buses sometimes run a little behind during the 1st week. If it is a situation that is out of the ordinary for first week runs, we will notify families who are affected via ParentSquare.

This newsletter is packed with important information, key dates, and updates to help you and your student get off to a smooth start. Please take a few moments to read through everything carefully and mark your calendars accordingly. Reminder: We kindly ask you to check ParentSquare regularly. This is our number one form of communication with families.

We are truly excited about the year ahead—filled with new opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. Our team is ready and committed to supporting every student in reaching their fullest potential.

Let’s make this a fantastic year together!
