Welcome to the HIVE at Reynolds!

This year, we are lucky to have FIVE new B'Ville Bees joining the Reynolds community. Katrina Kahl is leading band, Courtney Myers is joining the first grade team, Kelley Sluka is our new school counselor, Alexander Vasquez is teaming up with fifth grade, and Erin White is our new students with disabilities teacher. Check our their bio's below!

Katrina Kahl

Hello Reynolds Community!! My name is Katrina Kahl, and I am very pleased to join Reynold’s music team as the new band director! This is my 16th year at B’ville and my 26th year as a music teacher, having taught both general and instrumental music in several districts. I have a daughter, Kate, who is in eighth grade and I love watching her musical events. Fun fact, I attended Kindergarten at Reynolds Elementary School several years ago and I am excited to be a part of the Reynolds family all these years later! I cannot wait to share my love for music with all of the band students and I look forward to all of the fun while we embark on our newest adventure in the world of band!

Courtney Myers

My name is Courtney Myers, and I’m so excited to be joining the Reynolds as a 1st grade teacher this year! I recently joined the district after teaching special education in the Syracuse City School District, and I’m thrilled to now be part of the Baldwinsville community. I am passionate about creating a welcoming, inclusive classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to become a life-long learner. Together, we’ll build a community rooted in kindness, curiosity, and growth.
Thank you for welcoming me into your school family—I can’t wait for a wonderful year together!

Kelley Sluka

Hello families! My name is Kelley Sluka, and I’m so excited to be joining the Reynolds team this September as your school counselor. I’ve spent the past 15 years working in schools, including in New York City and the Fulton City School District, and bring with me a strong background in restorative practices and behavior support. I believe deeply in creating safe and supportive spaces where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. As a parent myself with a child in this community, I’m personally invested in helping our students grow socially, emotionally, and academically. I’m truly looking forward to partnering with you and getting to know your amazing kids!

Alexander Vasquez

My name is Mr. Alexander Vasquez, and I am excited to introduce myself as a first-year 5th grade teacher joining the Reynolds Elementary team!
I believe that every student deserves a high-quality education—one that not only challenges them academically but also enriches all areas of their young lives. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from Stony Brook University and my Master of Science in Childhood Education (Grades 1–6) from Syracuse University. Alongside my studies, I’ve worked as a U.S. Youth Soccer coach, where I’ve developed strong skills in leadership, teamwork, and building meaningful relationships with students.
I view students as the bright future of our community—full of potential, creativity, and promise. With the right support and encouragement, they will become the leaders of tomorrow.
Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your child’s educational journey. I’m looking forward to a fantastic year together!

Erin White

My name is Ms. Erin White and I am delighted to be joining the team at Reynolds as a special education teacher this coming school year! I am a mom of three kids in Baldwinsville schools and have worked with many wonderful students over the years. I spent six years at a school for students with learning differences in New York City as well as spending time at DCMO BOCES and in the North Syracuse Early Education Program. For the last four years I have had various roles as a substitute teacher here in B'ville. I am looking forward to meeting lots of new faces and to a great year of learning! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or just to say hello.
